The premier exhibit, "The Bus Stops Here" project, featured the imaginative designs of six Cranbrook Academy of Art graduate students who redefined the often overlooked and under-appreciated bus stop and park bench.

The project was the result of a group effort by Cranbrook Academy of Art and Design, Design Michigan, The City of Ferndale, and Paramount Bank. Additional funding was provided by the Michigan Department of Transportation and the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority.

After display at Community Arts @ Paramount Bank, the benches were placed in key locations in Ferndale along the Woodward and Nine Mile corridors. The exhibit featured eight unique designs, created with a variety of techniques and materials.
